I love the 100 word horror stories, and sadly this is the last in the series by Kevin J Kennedy. As he states in the forward, the market has become saturated. I understand and have been reading this format for years and years. I think creating a story of this length really shows the strength of any writer. Hopefully sometime down the road this format will be fresh again.
100 Word Horrors: Book 4 was a solid wrap to the series. I found some of the stories average and missing the punch or wow factor. Others were down right fantastic and shocking, being just what I was looking for. Many gave great twists or went in a direction I hadn’t expected. I shook my head at many, and even laughed at a few. With 100 stories I can’t possibly mention them all, but the following left their mark. These were my favorites, I’m sure you will have your own. This was a good read, a lot of fun, and a book I would recommend to my fellow 100 word horror story fans.
Andrew Lennon – Cinema, Motivation and The Wave, Billy San Juan – My Sincerest Apologies to any Innocent Victims, Chad Lutzke – Shingles on a Graham-Cracker Roof, C.M. Saunders – Louie’s Room, Dawn DeBraal – Revived and Road Kill, Gary McDonough – Curiosity, Howard Carlyle – The Theatre of Screams, Jack Lothian – Diamond Lake Killer, Julian J. Guignard – Molly’s Wedding, Kevin J. Kennedy – Missing Halloween, Lee Mountford – Choke, RJ Meldrum – Livestock, Robin Braid – Undead Champion, Ron Davis – The Job Interview, Ross Baxter – Eternal Life, Ryan Colley – Memory Stick, Steve Stred – Open Call and Terra, Timothy Friesenhahn – I.
